Also known as EHxC, the title says it all. The Extended Hex Compiler is a hexadecimal compiler that allows you to write hexadecimal in a plain text file and compiles it straight to machine code.

Installation

Run the installer and put the executable in your PATH.

Windows:

  • Download the installer from the releases page
  • Run the installer
  • Put the executable in your PATH (EXE Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Extended Hex Compiler)
  • Enjoy
  • If it doesn’t work when you run the program, try running it with administrator privileges

Linux:

  • Download the program from the releases
  • Add the program to your PATH
  • Enjoy

MacOS:

  • Download the program from the releases
  • Add the program to your PATH
  • Enjoy

Usage

Run ehxc to see a list of commands and options.

The build command requires a config file. To use the build command, create a file in the same directory as your ehx file and name it ehxconf without the extension.

Then, put the following in the file:

[input file]
[output file]
